Cold Frame
Definition
An unheated, low transparent-roofed structure used to extend the growing season by protecting plants from frost, wind, and excessive rain. Cold frames are used to harden off seedlings grown indoors, overwinter tender perennials, and grow cool-season vegetables through winter.
