Vermicomposting
Definition
The decomposition of organic waste using earthworms, particularly red wigglers (Eisenia fetida), to produce vermicompost — a nutrient-rich, biologically active soil amendment. Vermicomposting is faster than traditional composting, can be done indoors, and produces worm castings of exceptional quality.
