Root Rot
Definition
Decay of root tissue caused by soilborne pathogens — usually Pythium, Phytophthora, Rhizoctonia, or Fusarium — often exacerbated by overwatering and poor drainage. Symptoms include yellowing, wilting, and stunting above ground; brown, mushy roots below.
