Green Manure
Definition
A crop that is incorporated into the soil while still green, or after cutting, to improve fertility and structure. Leguminous green manures (clover, vetch, lupins) can fix 100–300 kg of nitrogen per hectare per year, reducing dependence on synthetic fertilizers.
