Definition
A crop grown primarily for the extraction of vegetable oil from its seeds or fruits. Major oilseeds include soybeans, rapeseed/canola, sunflower, palm, cottonseed, groundnut, sesame, and linseed. Oilseeds provide cooking oil, biodiesel feedstock, and protein-rich meal.
