Aquaponics
Definition
An integrated food production system combining aquaculture (fish farming) with hydroponics. Fish waste provides nutrients for plants; plants filter and clean the water returned to the fish. Aquaponics is highly water-efficient and can produce both protein (fish) and vegetables simultaneously.
