Definition
Microscopic roundworms in the soil that can parasitize plant roots, causing galls (root-knot nematodes), cysts (cyst nematodes), or rot (lesion nematodes). Root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne) are among the world's most economically damaging crop pests.
