pH (soil)
Definition
A measure of the acidity or alkalinity of soil on a scale of 0–14, with 7 being neutral. Most plants grow best between pH 6.0 and 7.0. pH affects nutrient availability: iron becomes unavailable above pH 7.5, while manganese can become toxic below pH 5.5.
