Seed Bank
Definition
A facility that stores seeds under controlled conditions (low temperature and humidity) to preserve genetic diversity of plant species for the long term. The Svalbard Global Seed Vault in Norway stores over 1.3 million seed samples from gene banks worldwide as a backup repository.
