Tundra
Definition
A treeless biome characterized by permafrost, low-growing vegetation, and a very short growing season. Arctic tundra is dominated by mosses, lichens, sedges, and dwarf shrubs; alpine tundra occurs above the tree line on mountains at all latitudes.
