Chamaecrista ghesquiereana is a legume native to Central Africa, named in honor of Jean Ghesquière, a Belgian botanist who worked extensively in the Congo region. The plant belongs to the large genus Chamaecrista and grows in the forests and woodlands of the Congo basin region. Like other members of the genus, it produces bright yellow flowers and contributes to soil nitrogen fixation in tropical ecosystems.
