Definition
Small, white-winged insects that feed on plant phloem sap, causing yellowing, wilting, and sooty mold growth on their honeydew excretions. The silverleaf whitefly (Bemisia argentifolii) is a significant pest of vegetables, cotton, and ornamentals, also transmitting geminiviruses.
