Definition

Pollination carried out by wind (anemophily), characteristic of grasses, oaks, alders, and conifers. Wind-pollinated flowers are typically small, lack petals and nectar, produce enormous quantities of lightweight pollen, and bear feathery stigmas to catch airborne grains.
