Desmodium alamanii

Desmodium alamanii is a perennial tick-trefoil native to Mexico and Central America, named after the Mexican botanist Alaman, growing in open forest, scrubland, and disturbed ground. It bears small pink to purple flowers in racemes and trifoliate leaves, with lobed, sticky seed pods that cling to animal fur and clothing for dispersal. The species grows in a range of habitats from sea level to mid-elevation.
