Lupinus praestabilis

Lupinus praestabilis is a perennial lupine native to the Andes of South America, possibly Peru or Ecuador, described as a notable or outstanding species as the Latin epithet suggests. It grows in montane grassland and scrubland habitats at mid to high elevations in the Andes, producing dense flower spikes and silvery-hairy palmate leaves. The Andean Lupinus radiation includes some of the most morphologically variable and ecologically important legumes of the high mountains.
