Rhynchosia burkartii is a twining or trailing perennial legume named after the Argentine botanist Arturo Burkart, native to subtropical and temperate South America. It produces small yellow flowers often marked with purple streaks and trifoliate leaves, bearing small pods with distinctive black and red seeds typical of many Rhynchosia species. The genus is widespread in the subtropics and tropics with many South American species.
