Astragalus basineri is a perennial herbaceous milkvetch native to Central Asia, growing in the steppes and rocky slopes of Kazakhstan and neighboring regions. It forms low mounding clumps and produces small pea-like flowers typical of the large and diverse Astragalus genus, the largest flowering plant genus with over 3,000 species. Like many astragalus species, it is adapted to semi-arid continental climates.
