Butea monosperma

Butea monosperma, commonly known as flame of the forest or palash, is a medium-sized deciduous tree native to the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, producing brilliant orange-red flowers that cover the leafless tree in spring, creating a spectacular visual display. The tree reaches 15 meters in height and grows in dry deciduous forests and degraded lands across India, Bangladesh, and Myanmar. It is the state tree of Jharkhand, India, and has deep cultural significance in Hindu traditions, with many medicinal uses.
