Lupinus mantaroensis is a lupine endemic to the Mantaro Valley region of Peru in the central Andes, growing in the montane scrubland, grassland, and rocky slopes around this major Andean valley. It produces dense erect spikes of blue or purple pea-type flowers and palmately compound leaves with silvery hairs. The Mantaro Valley and surrounding high Andes support numerous endemic plant species adapted to the distinct climatic and soil conditions of this region.
