Polhillia brevicalyx is a small leguminous shrub endemic to the Western Cape of South Africa, occurring within the Cape Floristic Region fynbos biome. It is a member of a small endemic Cape genus bearing yellow pea-type flowers on slender stems with needle-like leaves adapted to the nutrient-poor, sandy or rocky soils of fynbos. Like many Cape legumes, it depends on fire for seed germination and regeneration.
