Canavalia macropleura

Canavalia macropleura is a twining or climbing leguminous vine in the jack bean genus, native to tropical coastal and island habitats of the Pacific. It produces clusters of pinkish to purple flowers and trifoliate leaves with large leaflets, bearing the large, thick-valved pods characteristic of the genus. Canavalia species are common in coastal sand dunes and beaches throughout the tropics, with seeds adapted for ocean dispersal.
