Lupinus pachitensis is a perennial lupine endemic to the Pichis or Pachitea river region of the central Peruvian Andes and Amazon foothills, growing in montane scrubland and forest margins. It produces spikes of pea-type flowers and palmate leaves typical of the genus. The eastern slopes of the Peruvian Andes in this region represent a transition zone between Andean and Amazonian vegetation types with high endemism.
