Acmadenia laxa

Acmadenia laxa

Acmadenia laxa is a small shrub in the family Rutaceae endemic to the Cape Floristic Region of South Africa, one of the world's biodiversity hotspots. It grows in fynbos heathland on the Cape mountains, where the thin, nutrient-poor, acidic soils and Mediterranean climate have driven extraordinary plant diversification. Like other acmadenias, it produces small star-shaped flowers and aromatic foliage rich in essential oils.
