Chamaecrista dunensis

Chamaecrista dunensis is a small herbaceous or shrubby legume native to coastal dune habitats of South America, particularly Brazil. The species is adapted to sandy, nutrient-poor soils in open coastal environments and produces the characteristic bright yellow flowers of the genus. Like other Chamaecrista species, it has sensitive leaves and is an important nitrogen fixer in its fragile coastal ecosystem.
