Piptadenia buchtienii

Piptadenia buchtienii is a tree in the legume family native to South America, named for the early 20th-century Bolivian plant collector Otto Buchtien. It produces spicate inflorescences of small flowers and bipinnately compound leaves, growing in the tropical and subtropical forests of Bolivia and neighboring countries. The genus Piptadenia includes several species important for timber and traditional uses in South American forests.
