Lonchocarpus huetamoensis is a tree endemic to the Huetamo region of Michoacán state in Mexico, growing in tropical dry forest. It produces the characteristic clusters of purple to violet flowers and pinnate leaves of the Lonchocarpus genus, with flat, winged pods suited for wind dispersal. The species is adapted to the strongly seasonal climate of the hot, dry Balsas River valley.
