Otoptera burchellii

Otoptera burchellii is a climbing or trailing legume native to southern Africa, named in honor of the naturalist William Burchell. The genus Otoptera is a small African genus in the bean tribe characterized by its distinctive winged pods. The plant grows in bushveld and rocky habitats in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique, producing small pea-like flowers and distinctively keeled or winged seed pods.
