Astragalus triflorus is a small perennial legume native to the Great Plains of central North America, from Canada south through the United States, growing in short grass prairie, dry hillsides, and sandy plains. It is a compact, low-growing plant producing clusters of typically three white to pale pink flowers per stem, as suggested by the species name. The species is adapted to the continental climate of the interior plains with cold winters and dry summers.
