Definition

The use of living organisms — predators, parasitoids, pathogens, or competitors — to reduce pest and disease populations. Examples include releasing Trichogramma wasps against caterpillar eggs, applying Bacillus thuringiensis against larvae, and introducing Phytoseiulus mites against spider mites.
