Zapoteca scutellifera

Zapoteca scutellifera is a shrub in the Fabaceae family native to Mexico or Central America, characterized by small shield-shaped or scutellate features as suggested by the species name. It produces globose flower heads with numerous white to cream stamens and bipinnately compound leaves, growing in dry tropical forest and scrubland habitats. The species is part of the small genus Zapoteca found in Mesoamerican dry forests.
