Spirotropis longifolia is a large tree native to the Amazon basin and Guiana Shield of South America, belonging to a small neotropical genus in the tribe Sophoreae of the Fabaceae. It produces elongated, narrow leaflets along compound leaves and bears purple to violet pea-type flowers, with spirally twisted pods suggesting the genus name Spirotropis. The tree grows in tropical rainforest and is occasionally used for timber in Amazonia.
