Gliricidia ehrenbergii is a tree or large shrub in the Fabaceae family native to Mexico and Central America, closely related to the widely planted Gliricidia sepium. It grows in dry tropical forests and woodland habitats in Mexico, producing clusters of pink to lilac flowers on leafless branches during the dry season. The genus is known for multipurpose agroforestry uses including live fencing, shade provision, and green manure.
