Inga lomatophylla

Inga lomatophylla is a tropical tree in the subfamily Mimosoideae, native to South America. It is characterized by its pinnate leaves with distinctive winged rachises — a key feature referenced in its species name — and produces cylindrical white flower spikes followed by elongated pods containing seeds embedded in sweet white pulp. The genus Inga is commonly known as ice cream beans and the edible pulp is consumed across the Neotropics.
