The genus Teramnus contains climbing or trailing legumes found across tropical regions of Africa, Asia, and the Americas. This species grows in woodland edges, grasslands, and disturbed habitats, producing small pea-shaped flowers and narrow pods typical of the tribe Phaseoleae.
