Senna singueana

Senna singueana, known as paperbark cassia or winter cassia, is a shrub or small tree native to southern and East Africa, typically growing in woodland, bushveld, and rocky hillsides from Tanzania to South Africa. It bears attractive golden-yellow flowers, often appearing before the leaves in winter or early spring, creating a striking floral display. The papery, peeling bark and distinctive flat pods make it a recognizable species in African savanna landscapes.
