Acacia excelsa

Acacia excelsa, known as ironwood or tall wattle, is a medium to large tree native to Queensland and northern New South Wales. It grows in open woodland on red soils and alluvial plains, reaching up to 12 meters with a spreading crown. The timber is extremely hard and dense, used traditionally by Indigenous Australians for implements and prized for boomerangs.
