Lupinus cuatrecasasii

Lupinus cuatrecasasii is a perennial lupine named after the Colombian-American botanist José Cuatrecasas, who made major contributions to the study of Andean flora, native to the high Andes of Colombia or Ecuador. It grows in paramo and montane grassland habitats at high elevation, producing dense spikes of pea-type flowers and silvery-hairy palmate leaves. The Colombian and Ecuadorian Andes harbor numerous endemic lupine species as part of the broader Andean Lupinus radiation.
