Lupinus tarmaensis

Lupinus tarmaensis is a perennial lupine endemic to the Tarma region of Junín department in the central Peruvian Andes, growing in montane grassland and puna habitats at elevations between 3,000 and 4,500 meters. It produces dense spikes of pea-type flowers and palmately compound leaves with silky hairs adapted to the cold, high-altitude Andean environment. The Tarma region supports diverse endemic flora adapted to the central Andean climate.
