Lupinus surcoensis

Lupinus surcoensis is a perennial lupine endemic to the Surco area of Lima department on the western slopes of the central Peruvian Andes, growing in montane scrubland and rocky grassland habitats. It produces spikes of pea-type flowers and palmate silky-hairy leaves adapted to the dry western slope environment. The western Andean slopes of Lima department have a distinct flora with many locally endemic species adapted to the fog oasis and dry montane conditions.
