Canavalia lineata

Canavalia lineata, known as striped jack bean or beach jack bean, is a sprawling to twining perennial vine native to tropical Asia and the Pacific, growing on coastal beaches, dunes, and disturbed areas. It produces pink to purple flowers and large trifoliate leaves with lineate markings on the pods as the name suggests, bearing the large, thick-walled pods characteristic of the jack bean genus. The species is adapted to coastal habitats and salt spray.
