Senna ellisiae

Senna ellisiae is a small shrubby legume native to the arid and semi-arid regions of the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, named after the naturalist Ellis. It grows in desert washes, rocky slopes, and dry grasslands, producing yellow flowers typical of the genus and pinnately compound leaves adapted to hot, dry conditions. The species is part of the diverse desert legume flora of the Chihuahuan and Sonoran desert regions.
