Centrosema kermesii is a climbing or twining perennial legume in the butterfly pea genus native to tropical South America. It produces large, showy flowers with a reverse orientation compared to typical legumes, bearing the characteristic large standard petal facing downward, in rich pink to carmine-red tones suggested by the species name. The genus Centrosema is widespread in the Neotropics and several species are used as forage and cover crops.
