Crotalaria vitellina is a herbaceous or woody legume in the rattlepod genus, native to Africa, with vitellina referring to its egg-yolk yellow flowers. Like all rattlepods, it produces inflated seed pods that rattle when dry. The plant grows in open grasslands, rocky hillsides, and woodland edges, and its bright yellow flowers are visited by a range of pollinating insects.
