Mimosa burkartii

Mimosa burkartii is a shrubby or herbaceous legume native to South America, named after the Argentine botanist Arturo Burkart who made major contributions to the study of South American legumes. It produces small spherical pink to white flower heads and bipinnately compound leaves with sensitive leaflets that fold when touched, characteristic of many Mimosa species. The species grows in open grasslands, scrubland, and disturbed ground in temperate to subtropical South America.
