Definition
Accelerating the growth or flowering of plants by manipulating temperature, light, or the growing environment outside the natural season. Rhubarb is forced in darkness for tender pink stems; daffodil and hyacinth bulbs are forced in winter for early indoor flowers; chicory is forced for pale, sweet chicons.
